While it can be rather daunting for some, or perhaps expensive, video marketing is not going away as one of the strongest performers on all forms of digital marketing. There’s a reason why TV advertising was once the pinnacle of marketing strategies for reaching an audience. It’s engaging. Video combined with the power of social media means now even the smallest of companies can take advantage of this avenue.

That’s a lot in digital marketing terms. Additionally 74% of users who watch an explainer tend to buy the product. Engaging content that’s informative and interesting can be the key for products.

People are craving video content.

According to Hubspot, 54% of consumers want more video content from brands and businesses they follow. This is imperative to engage those already somewhat engaged with your brand and keeping them engaged with your social assets. These days, people will often skip lots of words (yes the irony isn’t lost on us that we did this via a written format rather than video), and go straight for the audio and video piece of the exact same content.

When you scroll through your Facebook and Instagram feeds, what typically grabs your attention more than most? Research shows it is usually video content. It’s hard to pinpoint this personally, because our actions when scrolling through Facebook are often subconscious at first, but it’s the dynamic and often powerful first second of a video that makes us stop at take notice, at least for a few seconds. That immediate grab is so pivotal in the world of social media marketing, with so many companies and brands filling your feeds with ads, you want yours to be punchy and rise above.

It may sound odd at first, because natively video doesn’t play in email marketing campaigns, but using videos embedded into your emails can prove to be a winner helping your marketing be more effective and more memorable against the heavy competition. This is especially the case when demonstrating how products work, or in action. Or with a service, showcasing your testimonials and feature videos on service offerings.

Videos, especially engaging ones encourage sharing. If you’ve created/commissioned a masterpiece video that really engages the audience and is creative, you’ll get further reach than a really nice curated image. Great video gets tails wagging and people talking. Incorporate it into your strategy and you’ll have a catalogue of great content to churn through, and re-use. A good way to think about this is look at sporting teams. Why do they get such high engagements, even organically. Because their audience is engaged with the brand, and the videos are engaging and dynamic. The same concept applies to products and services.
